Jam OK is a safety check-in app. A guardian schedules check-ins for someone they look after (the "dependent"), who confirms with one tap that they are OK. If they don't, or if they send an SOS, the guardian is alerted. This policy explains what we collect, when, why, who can see it, and what control you have.

In short

1. Information we collect

Account information
Your email address, display name, the role you choose (guardian, dependent or backup guardian), your app language and your time zone. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address from them.

Phone number (optional)
If you add a phone number, it is shown to the person you are linked with so they can call you from the app.

Check-ins and SOS
The times of scheduled check-ins, whether each one was confirmed, missed or answered "not OK", SOS alerts you send, and when and by whom they were marked as resolved.

Location
Only at the moments described in section 2.

Phone status
Battery level, whether the phone is charging, and when Jam OK was last open on it. This helps a guardian tell a flat battery or a phone that is off from a real problem.

Notification token
A token from Apple or Google that lets us deliver reminders and alerts to your phone.

Subscription
Whether Jam OK Premium is active and when the current period ends (see section 7).

2. When location is used

Location is collected only from the dependent's phone, only with the permission they give, and only at these moments. We do not collect the guardian's location.

At a check-in or an SOS
When the dependent answers a check-in or sends an SOS, the position at that moment is shared with their guardian.
When the app is opened
The last known position is saved. It is sent to the guardian only if several check-ins in a row are missed, so they know where to start looking.
When signing out
If the dependent signs out, the guardian is told that check-ins have stopped, with the position at that moment.
Live location
Only when the dependent starts it (for 15 minutes, 1, 8 or 24 hours), or automatically for one hour after an SOS. The position is updated while sharing and is deleted as soon as sharing stops or ends. The dependent can stop it at any time. On Android a notification stays visible while it is on.
Safe zones
If the guardian creates safe zones and the dependent allows location "Always", the phone watches the zone borders in the background, also when Jam OK is closed. Jam OK only receives the moment of leaving or arriving (and, on Android, the point where the person left), not a continuous track. The dependent can see every zone in the app and can turn "Always" off in the phone settings at any time; zone alerts then stop.

3. How we use it

Only to run Jam OK: to send check-in reminders at the times you set, to alert the guardian (and backup guardian) when a check-in is missed, answered "not OK", or an SOS is sent, to send safe zone alerts, to show live location, history and phone status to the linked guardian, and to keep the service secure.

We process this data to provide the service you asked for. Location is processed on the basis of the permission given on the phone, which can be withdrawn at any time in the phone settings.

We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising or profiling. We do not share it with anyone except the service providers in section 6, or when the law requires it.

4. Who can see your data

The linked guardian
Sees the dependent's check-ins and SOS alerts, the location shared at the moments in section 2, live location while it is on, safe zone alerts, battery and phone status.

A backup guardian
If the guardian adds one, the backup receives the same alerts for that person (missed check-ins, SOS, safe zones) and can see the location that comes with them and the live location while it is on.

The dependent
Sees their own check-ins, the safe zones set for them, and who is looking after them.

Linking only happens when the dependent enters the guardian's invite code, so nobody can be added without taking part. When a link is removed, the guardian and the backup guardian lose access to that person immediately.

5. Children and parental consent

You must be at least 13 years old to create a Jam OK account. Where a child under 13 is checked on by a parent or guardian, that parent or guardian is responsible for setting up the account, consents to the collection of the child's check-in and location data as described here, and may delete that data at any time by unlinking the child or deleting the account.

If you believe a child under 13 has created an account without parental consent, contact us at klaudiocobaj01@gmail.com and we will delete the account and its data.

6. Service providers

Google Firebase (Google LLC)
Sign-in, database, server functions and push notifications.

Google Maps
Draws the maps in the app. Google receives the area of the map being shown.

Apple and Google
Deliver notifications (Apple Push Notification service, Firebase Cloud Messaging) and process subscriptions (App Store, Google Play).

These providers may process data on servers outside your country. They protect it with their own security measures and with the contractual safeguards required by data protection law, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. Payment information

If you subscribe to Jam OK Premium, the payment is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never see, receive or store your card details, billing address or account password.

We only store what we need to know whether Premium is active: that you are a subscriber and the date your current period ends. To confirm a purchase is genuine, our server checks the store receipt with Apple or Google.

8. How long we keep it

While your account exists
Your profile, links, schedules, check-in history (with the location attached to it), safe zones and alerts.

Live location
Deleted as soon as sharing stops or its time runs out.

When you delete your account
We permanently delete your profile, your links to other people, your schedules, your check-in, SOS, location and safe zone history, and your sign-in account.

9. Your rights and choices

In the app you can edit your profile, stop live location, unlink from a guardian or dependent, and permanently delete your account and its data from Settings. In your phone settings you can change or remove location and notification permissions at any time.

Depending on where you live, you also have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent. Write to us to use these rights. You can also complain to the data protection authority in your country (in Albania, the Commissioner for the Right to Information and Personal Data Protection).

10. Security

Data travels over encrypted connections and is protected by access rules that stop one user from reading another user's check-ins or location. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat this data with the care it deserves.

11. Changes to this policy

If we make important changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, tell you in the app.
